Honorable Mention in IDA Design Award 2021

Due to environmental health issues and the presence of unhoused individuals in the Fairlie-Poplar district of Atlanta, the community’s overall experience has been negatively affected. This project aims to host a cleaning festival designed to improve the neighborhood environment for residents and workers alike. The primary goal of the Fairlie-Poplar Cleaning Festival is to address environmental challenges. Additionally, it will serve as a catalyst for reducing food waste by collaborating with nearby restaurants to repurpose surplus food. This event also aims to create opportunities for community members to showcase their efforts and skills, fostering a sense of achievement. Ultimately, the festival seeks to enhance the neighborhood’s environment while providing meaningful work opportunities.
